The Gannet is an implant for the fixation of femoral neck fractures. The Gannet is characterized by high rotational stability, low implant volume and easy surgical technique.

Reinterventions are being reduced by more than 50% as shown in a prospective multicentre cohort study in five hospitals over three years time, including 1200 patients with at least twelve months follow-up. The results of the study indicate an improved patient care.

The Gannet preserves the remaining blood supply of the femoral head, it provides the stability necessary for revascularisation and it provides the stability necessary for primary fracture healing. The surgical technique is straightforward and the instrumentation simple.

The implant is named after the seabird Gannet. Like the gannet seabird the Gannet implant is fast, streamlined, targeted and able to fold her wings in pursuit.
